History and production facilities
Met-Lux S.A. began its production activity May 1997
with one metallizer 2450mm wide
The
continuous growing activity allowed Met-Lux to buy, in the period from
1998 to 2000, two additional new machines of the same brand and reel
width respectively 1650mm and 2480mm width.
A new metallizer with a reel width of 2480mm reached the company in
2003. Met-Lux factory is now equipped with four metallizer lines working
in continuous mode 24h/day and in three shifts, during seven days per
week. The four metallizer lines (1650mm – 2450mm-2x2480mm widths) are
equipped with up to date auxiliary equipment.
These metallizers are developed with the latest
technological innovations available in vacuum metallizing industry and
are equipped with low stress winding systems and plasma treatment to
improve the barrier properties of the metallized films as well as the
metal adhesion.
Met-Lux
actual production capacity is over 14000 tons per year.
The four metallizers are equipped with special
instruments placed "on line" for detecting metal deposition
defects. The total storage area inside the building is 3800 m˛ surface.
Our laboratory is equipped with high technology
instrumentation to measure the Oxygen transmission (Oxtran) as well as
Water vapor transmission (Permatran) for product quality control &
development
Evolution of production capacity
The
business activity is much diversified and we focus on both toll
metallizing and direct sales to customers all over Europe.
We are also developing our markets in Eastern Europe
and in the United States.

Met-Lux Product Range :
The Met-Lux activity is mainly focused in improving
the performance of plastic metallized film process. Met-Lux metallizes
all plastic films available in the market accordingly to customer
requirements. The film is processed in high vacuum metallizers and then
slit to the final users (converters) specifications.

Metallized film is increasingly used in many
industrial activities and products and for many applications. For
example we can talk about flexible packaging for food industry,
pharmaceutical, insulation, building industry products as well as for
decoration, and other applications such as helium filled balloons,
etc...
MET-LUX has developed its own metallizing technique
in order to improve and give "very high barriers, long shelf
life" properties to films for food and pharmaceutical packaging
industry in partnership with different film manufacturers.
Met-Lux Quality company strategy
Met-Lux has oriented its strategy towards the
customer satisfaction in terms of service, competitiveness, quality and
delivery time.
Our company is complying with the international
quality certification ISO9001 based on the total quality concept
and with continuous improvement. The food industry standards as well as
the European directives in matter of food contamination avoidance has
led Met-Lux to obtain the compliance to AIB (American Institute of
Baking) standard for flexible packaging facilities which is including
the HACCP methods and procedures. The score we obtained in 2004 is 935
points with ranking: "superior".
